"They had a fight and luckily Isseta escaped. She wanted to leave quickly because her face was hurt. As she left, we turned on the house lights, and everyone inside, especially Aunty Hawwa and Aunty Bilki by the window, noticed her. They called her "Ido" and she turned because she was sleepy. She wondered in her eyes who caused her troubles. They knew it was Basu, but Isseta wasn't like Basu they knew. They stopped talking about it. Cece gave her a gift hoping she would show Isseta the right path, making it easier to find her later. They believed they needed her, as they were all close friends. They thought she was just a woman, with nothing to do with her. Isseta came back, pondering these things. She feared hunger. She started her chores as usual. While filling water, her father returned from the mosque and Iyya Hassi came to talk about breakfast. He asked Isseta why she didn't come home last night and why she went to the old bread house and made Shamsun and Mlm lado. He glanced at Ido. She avoided discussing it and thanked God. Iyya Hassi interrupted, but Isseta didn't reveal what happened. She tried to find the right words. She didn't know it was me who hurt her that night.
