About this Novel

In Jigawa State, there exists a quaint private town called Dabi. Dabi is known for its picturesque beauty and its inhabitants, primarily Fulani Usul, are known for their civility. However, an intriguing transformation occurs when these townsfolk venture beyond their borders, particularly into the city of Kano, where they exude an air of happiness akin to a journey to Saudi Arabia. The residents of Dabi share strong familial bonds, fostering a close-knit community. One day, the narrator enters a substantial building with numerous doors. Inside, they witness a young woman rushing out of one door, seemingly intent on confrontation. The narrator cleverly avoids her, observing her peculiar attire and demeanor. They stealthily follow her after taking cover behind a bed. As they pursue her, the narrator notices a specific door that catches their attention. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the house, a woman named Marka is engaged in a curious activity involving an oil lamp, making cryptic remarks about a lightbulb. In another room, a woman named Ladidi recalls an incident involving a person named Sayyada, which leads to laughter and reminiscing.
