As she trekked uphill, she encountered her grandfather, an esteemed elder in the town, who returned her greeting with a lackluster response. Observing her distress, he silently sympathized with her plight, a sentiment she registered without comment. At the sheep farm, Shatu encountered Salame, who inquired about her mother's well-being.
